Today's my birthday.
It's just a number, they say
As time trickles down

  2. Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
    To where it bent in the undergrowth;

Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
    Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,

And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
    Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I--
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference
    R.Frost

Congratulations !! Thank you for taking us through your "less traveled road". Luis from Portugal

  7. Happy birthday! When you were 29 you rode the GDR. Now that you're 30, you need to ride it round trip...

  12. 30 years old? Quit bragging, I've got holes in socks older than that. Heck I was married before you were born. I remember when "don't trust anyone over 30" actually meant something. Now it's more like "don't trust anyone under 30". Guess you're finally trustworthy. ;-)

Remember, you're only as old as you think you are. I remember sitting in the nursing home with my 93 yr old grandmother, when she said "I don't know why I have to be in here with all these old people".

Happy Birthday... Here's hoping you have many more adventures.

  13. And you run, and you run to catch up with the sun, but it's sinking
Racing around to come up behind you again
The sun is the same in a relative way, but you're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death

    Happy Birthday Jill!

  15. Happy 30th Jill. I always remember your birthday because it's also my wife's birthday. Her's should be interesting. She hosts a fiber night for knitters on Thursdays. Since it's her birthday and she prefers not to get gifts, everyone one is encouraged to perform either a skit, sing, read a poem, etc. It will be fun to see what people do. Hope yours is good as well.

  17. Hey it is only a number and seriously I went into denial when I turned 40 but you just turn around and the years have passed and you think nah...I am not that old.....but nothing has changed, we just get wiser and feel the fear a little more!
    Happy Birthday

  18. Wow, the Big Three-Oh. I guess this means we'll all have to wear black arm bands now to mourn the passing of your child-like innocence.

Now that you've hit 30 you'll not only have to carry a SPOT with you on your bike rides, but also a Life Alert so you can call out "I've fallen and I can't get up !".

  49. From the Old Farmers Almanac:
Birthday Lore of the Day — Archives | More Advice
You are a leader both among your friends and in business. Your ideals are high and you should let them lead you, for they will take you far. You are jovial and vivacious, fond of out-of-doors sports and travel, and well liked by both sexes
    Happy Birthday!!

  53. Happy Birthday sister!!! I was thinking, you should probably make a list of things you want to accomplish before you turn 30...oh wait... too late for that. It's a good thing you knocked some major ones out of the way this year! Sorry we couldn't spend this birthday at Disneyland together. I love you

  54. I hope you remembered to shut off the smoke detector before lighting the candles on your cake. That, and tell the neighbors you're lighting them too so they don't call the fire department.

30 is a milestone year, mainly because you have to switch from having a standard small round birthday cake to having one of those big-assed rectangular sheet cakes because all the candles won't fit anymore. Hitting 30 might suck for you, but just means the rest of us get more cake. Hell, by the time you hit 30 you've got so much cake that everyone in the office can have a piece !.
