I intended to write a blog post before I left, but time got away from me. now i am attempting to send a message from my kindle. beat and i are in italy, where he is gearing up to run 200 miles in the tor des geants and i plan to binge on hiking, espresso and photo taking. this is my first time outside north america and already a bit of a culture shock. hopefully i will eventually find internet so i can update m photo blog.
Europe?! First time? Have a BLAST Jill.
ReplyDeleteTake a break from the blog or those damn Italian keyboards will drive you 'round the bend, believe me!
ReplyDeleteHave a great time!
Can't understand why italian keyboard are "damn"... They're normal QWERTY keyboards and you can find different keys set up only on hardware for special application! :)
ReplyDeleteBtw, here in Italy free hotspots are not so widespread as in the USA but you can usually find free WiFi in libraries, McD, close to banks and so on...
Cheers and enjoy the Alps!

If you are anywhere near Naples, please get some pizza. I wish I could remember the name of the place we went (twice). You will never think of pizza the same way again.
ReplyDeletePositano was my favorite place in Italy..hope you guys get to be somewhere near the Amalfi Coast! Have fun.
Oh my God, I loooooove Italy - you're in for a treat! The mountains are beautiful, the food is amazing, the lakes are stunning, and the people are (on the whole) great! Enjoy, have a fabulous time, and good luck to Beat for his race!
ReplyDeletePositively jealous!
ReplyDeleteWelcome in Europe!
ReplyDeleteFirst trip outside North Am? So exciting! I remember when I first left the U.S. at 18 it was like landing on another planet (in a good way). What at treat.
ReplyDeleteGood luck beat!! Its gonna be a heck of a race.
ReplyDeleteHi Edo! They drove me nuts - the alphabet keys were QWERTY but all the punctuation was different! I sent some "interesting" emails, ha. So I gave up on the emails and drank wine instead.
ReplyDeleteHope you enjoy it here, and let me know if you make it north of the Alps...
ReplyDeleteGermany has different keyboards too, it takes some getting used to but I found it easier to learn the keyboard than try to reprogramme it.
Enjoy Italy, where people live life sanely. Please also binge on the incredible food, which is the essence of Italy! Have fun, Jill. Hope you can stay more than just a few days....
ReplyDeleteHope you are having an amazing time!
